Kendrick Lamar recently kicked off his 2017 arena tour in support of his critically acclaimed album DAMN. For this tour, which will hit cities in the US, Canada and Mexico, FOH Engineer Kyle Hamilton specified a complete VUE sound reinforcement system, supplied by Escondido, California-based Sound Image.
Debuting earlier this month to a packed house of 18,000 at the Gila River Arena just outside Phoenix, the system includes left and right VUE al-12 line arrays consisting of 20 elements each, with two auxiliary side-hangs of eight elements each. 32 VUEDrive V3 Systems Engines provide power and processing for the arrays. A DIGICo SD7 handles the FOH mix with a pair of VUE h-12s serving as nearfield monitors.

VUE Audiotechnik Modernizes Sound System In United Methodist Church of Vista
Established in 1954, The United Methodist Church of Vista (UMC Vista) has been committed to serving its community through spoken word, classic and contemporary worship services, and a music program that includes a chancel choir, praise band, hand bell choir and a developing children’s music ministry. When UMC Vista recently decided to improve the sound system in its sanctuary, they called on Sound Image to facilitate the installation of a new audio system built around VUE Audiotechnik loudspeaker systems.

Country music legend Vince Gill uses a streamlined approach to touring, using house sound systems in virtually every venue he plays. To ensure the full coverage and sound quality that fans expect, production manager and FOH engineer Hugh Johnson carries VUE Audiotechnik loudspeakers to complement whatever “PA du jour ” the tour may encounter.
Johnson acknowledges that it’s unusual to select a new loudspeaker brand for an established artist like Vince Gill. “It true, but I heard them demoed and was intrigued. There’s this clarity and musicality about them that I haven’t had before,” he says. “I brought some into Sound Image Nashville, and every model sounded great right out of the box. The more I heard, the more I liked them.”
