When first opened, the building was the largest unsupported steel dome coliseum in the nation. The facility has been known by many names: Charlotte Coliseum, Independence Arena, Cricket Arena and since 2008 as Bojangles’ Coliseum.
Inter Technologies is in process of installing a sound system to the famed stadium located in Charlotte, NC. s a part of a 16 million upgrade and facelift to this historic venue.
The new sound system part of the ongoing renovation includes multiple VUE al-8/al-4 arrays powered by V4 and V6 Systems Engines. This marks the first time the coliseum has received a makeover in its 60 years. It was at one point among the most prominent entertainment venues in the South, attracting acts ranging from Elvis to James Brown to crusades by evangelist Billy Graham.
The Charlotte Observatory newspaper visited this past Wednesday among many other TV and news outlets to see the progress.
